Check out these ideas. All of them are great for a group of couples, but they\u2019re also perfect both to get past that \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">did he book a hotel room<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d quandary <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> if you either went to prom solo or ended up ditching your date (or being ditched). Plan ahead for a fun place to go and something equally fun to do. We dreamed up 9 ideas\u2014in alphabetical order\u2014but we\u2019ll bet you can come up with even more!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><b>1. Beachfront Bonfire<\/b><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Summer\u2019s on the horizon, but it can still get chilly at night so why not light a fire <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">after<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the fire of prom night? You can snuggle with your date or share a blanket with your BFFs, and it\u2019s a great alternative to even more dancing. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Intimate Alternative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: If your group is smaller, gather around someone\u2019s backyard fire pit. Stick to S\u2019mores, hot dogs on sticks and other outdoor-only snacks, then dump everything in the garbage can on your way out. Then nobody\u2019s house will get wrecked, and you won\u2019t get that day-after-prom \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">clean this up<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">right now<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d from the parents!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b><b>2. Bizarre Bowling Challenge<\/b><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We do <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mean your ordinary bowling match. Bowl blindfolded, backward, between your legs, and especially with your non-dominant hand and see who still wins.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>One Big Plus:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This is one time when, if you decide to bowl in your fancy dance clothes, choosing a short prom dress will come in handy!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b><b>3. Casino Night in a Roomy Basement<\/b><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can rent a table or two, everybody pitch in a few bucks to cover the rental and then set a cash limit of $5. The winner will go home with a big score\u2014or make that person buy breakfast for the entire crowd! You can also just hang out when you\u2019re dealt out, listen to music, dance some more, or just chill and savor the thrill of a fabulous evening.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><b>4. Franchise Movie Marathon<\/b><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vote on a film franchise series\u2014Friday the 13<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Indiana Jones, James Bond, Harry Potter, Twilight, whatever you like\u2014then see how many you can watch before everybody falls asleep. The \u201cwinner\u201d makes a run for coffee and donuts.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><b>5. Garage Band Gig<\/b><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OK, well, maybe an <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">unplugged<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> gig\u2014this will be late at night, remember. But if you or your friends are in a musical group, why not let them take the stage and entertain?<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Silly fun:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Add some karaoke&#8230;if you dare!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b><b>6. Kitchen Kraze<\/b><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t just go out to eat\u2014make your own eats. Choose DIY pizzas, tacos, and fresh baked cookies if the guys are included. But if it\u2019s just you and your BFFs, go all Emeril and make something fancy that you\u2019ve always wanted to try.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><b>7. Lip-Sync Talent Show<\/b><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No talent required\u2014just imagination and courage! You could collect \u201cprops\u201d like hats and oversized sunglasses, maybe a feather boa. And if you know what you want to do ahead of time, take a low-key \u201ccostume\u201d and prepare a dance routine (but please\u2014<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">no<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">twerking<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, OK?!)<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><b>8. Outdoor \u201cDrive\u201d In Movie<\/b><\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Get a projector and either rent a huge screen or use the blank wall of somebody\u2019s house. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and rent a popcorn machine.<\/p>\n<h2><b><b>9. Video Game Binge<\/b><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is one night when you <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">won\u2019t<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> hear, \u201cShut that thing off and do your homework\/chores\/give it a rest already!\u201d It\u2019s also one thing you can beat your date at without him feeling \u201cless of a man\u201d especially if you chose throwback games like Mario Brothers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Final Tip: Plan Your <\/b><b><i>After<\/i><\/b><b> Prom Outfit, too!<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> You\u2019ll spend hours\u2014if not days or weeks\u2014picking the perfect prom dress. Put just as much thought into what you\u2019ll wear to the after-prom party. If you\u2019re going in your fancy duds, pack a pair of glitter Converse or cowboy boots. If it\u2019s casual at someone\u2019s house, pack a bag with your comfiest jeans, prettiest top, and definitely some statement jewelry. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also make a playlist ahead of time so you can chill out to the tunes you like best while you\u2019re reliving the best (or worst!) night of your life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Picked out your prom dress yet?
