And if you\u2019ve been too caught up in the dramatic fantasy of prom, it\u2019s not unlikely that you\u2019ll have an unpleasant reality check. So let\u2019s talk a little so that you\u2019ll be able to indulge in the fantasy world known as Prom without losing your mind or getting your heart broken.<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cproblems\u201d with Prom boil down to mindsets that can actually be a bit on the irrational side if not kept in check. So we\u2019re just going to lay out some facts and also some other ways of looking at prom to help you dodge disappointment.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOnce in a Lifetime\u201d Mentality<\/b><\/p>\n

While it\u2019s true that a high school prom usually comes only once, in reality, most students get two chances to go: junior year <\/span>and<\/span><\/i> senior year. Some lucky girls even go to prom sophomore year, but that\u2019s not the norm. So first, unless you\u2019re a senior preparing from prom for the first\u2014and \u201conly\u201d\u2014time, if you don\u2019t go this year, as they say, \u201cthere\u2019s always next year.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

More importantly, though, is the fact that there will be other moments in time that will thoroughly outshine prom. Let\u2019s list some of those milestones:<\/span><\/p>\n
